A surprised proposal in front of Mount Fuji

A surprise proposal session in Kawaguchiko, the most popular destination for the views of Mt. Fuji

Forget about Paris. Japan is the new capital of romance. This beautiful country is the perfect place to pop the question and has very original proposal destinations.

If you plan to Japan for your special moment, please contact us about 2-3 months ahead of time. We can start from your destination, then where to meet, what time, and how you can make it happen.

Earlier August, we had a proposal session for a couple from Montreal, Canada. They were in the middle of three-weeks of travel of Japan from the south, and Kawaguchiko was the one last stop before Tokyo.

My man, Felix, wanted to make the moment happen in front of Mt. Fuji, a symbol of Japan. But here is one concern. Weather in mountain is often unpredictable, and view of the mountain completely covered up, even a few kilometers away.

I arrived at the spot of the proposal 30 minutes before the appointed time, to check on angle of the photo and where to hide until they arrive.

But within 3 minutes after I got there, it started raining. Not just a shower. It was a downpour like typhoon came back to us. Forecast predicted that it would stop in 30 min. but I didn’t want to make their special moment under the muddy wet ground. So, I texted him that we changed the plan and we should visit another park with a flower field, Ooishi Koen.

From Kawaguchiko station, there were taking a commuter bus, and it was running late for 20 min. due to heavy traffic. But it was actually fortunate that as they arrive at the Park, rain just stopped.

As I noticed their arrival at the bus stop, I sent instruction, how to go to the spot that would look beautiful, surrounded by greens and flowers, regardless no visibility of Mt. Fuji.

Ooishi park is very popular tourists destination, but right after the heavy rain, the place was exclusive stage just for our couple.

After the proposal, we spend about an hour for their memorial session. About five min. before end of shooting time, suddenly sky cleared up, and finally we saw the view of Mt Fuji.
